Design trend, Nouveau-rustico

I first came familiar with the term nouveau-rustico while reading an article at a magazine referring to the new Italian restaurants Osterias, which, as a new trend, are offering a more home-made-Italian-style menu and I couldn't help but associate the term and trend to what's popping up in the home design world. After all food, fashion and decor are very much influenced by one another. This nouveau-rustico decor is a combination of matte surface wood, linen or some other organic textile with a good dose of glam (but one you can live long enough with) thrown in there resulting in a style that screams " hey, I've been to some places, I've seen enough and I'm going back to basics without sacrificing style" Pierre Yovanovitch's home in my previous post is an example of nouveau-rustico style. Because you can't live in a lounge-like room every day. Below, a glimpse.
